The Steel Cruise balance bike is simply beautiful. My 4 year old was lucky enough to be given a second hand one from someone who found it too tatty to give their daughter. His wooden balance bike had just fallen apart and we were having trouble screwing it back together, so this was a gift with perfect timing. My son was given the orange Steel Cruiser balance bike and he is very happy with it. We all really like the colour too and it makes a change from blue or pink.

What We Liked About The Steel Cruiser Balance Bike
One of the things we really liked about this balance bike was the fact it had a brake. The wooden balance bike my son used before didn’t have a brake and we soon realised this was a drawback. My son goes really fast on his balance bike and the only way for him to stop was to use his feet, which not only wore his shoes down but also meant he couldn’t slow down as quickly as we would have liked. The brake has allowed him to not only get used to a new function that he will have to use on a proper bike in the future but also has helped him slow down much quicker than before. We are very happy with this function.
We also liked the fact that there was a place that my son could put his feet up on and rest them on between pushing. He has found this extremely useful.
The kickstand has also been great too. My son was forever trying to prop up his bike against walls with his old balance bike and would get frustrated that he couldn’t do it. With the kickstand he can just flip it out and stand it up. He loves it.
The option to adjust the seat is great too and it allows my son to get a feel for what is the most comfortable height and he doesn’t have to settle for something less than perfect.
Lastly overall the bike is just very well built and durable. It is just like a proper bike just without pedals. We love the fact it even has mudguards which is something I don’t have even on my own bike! We absolutely love it and much prefer it to the wooden version we had before.
What We Didn’t Like About The Steel Cruiser Balance Bike
We couldn’t really think of any negatives to the Steel Cruiser apart from that it would be nice if it were a little lighter even though it is already half the weight of a normal bike.
